Ahavah Rising Stars Foundation, Inc
OUR STORY
Ahavah Rising Stars was founded on love (Ahavah means love in Hebrew) and a simple belief: talent is universal, but opportunity is not.
As Mother Teresa once said, “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.” That belief reflects the heart of our mission, small acts of support, when directed with purpose, can create lasting waves of transformation in the lives of students and their communities.
Throughout my journey in advocacy and service, I witnessed how life-changing opportunities are often determined not by a person’s potential, but by the barriers they face. I became increasingly aware of the challenges international students encounter after receiving acceptance letters to colleges and universities in the United States. While admission represents hope and achievement, many students never make it to campus because of financial obstacles, technology gaps, housing concerns, transportation challenges, visa complexities, and a lack of support systems.
I saw a critical gap between acceptance and enrollment, a gap that leaves countless dreams unrealized. Behind every student is a family that has sacrificed, a community that believes in them, and a future filled with possibility. Yet too often, those possibilities are lost because students lack the resources and guidance needed to complete the journey.
Driven by a passion for justice, education, and opportunity, I founded Ahavah Rising Stars to help bridge that gap. Our mission is to ensure that international students are not defined by the barriers they face, but empowered by the opportunities they deserve. Through mentorship, education, technology, advocacy, and comprehensive support services, we help students transform acceptance into enrollment and enrollment into achievement.
At Ahavah Rising Stars, we believe that when one student succeeds, the impact extends far beyond the individual. Families are strengthened, communities are enriched, and future generations are inspired. Every student we serve creates a ripple of hope that reaches farther than we can imagine.
Our story is ultimately about opening doors, building bridges, and creating opportunities for students whose dreams deserve the chance to become reality.
Mission Statement
The Ahavah Rising Stars Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit organization, is dedicated to advancing educational equity and advocating for immigration justice. Our mission is to expand equitable access to higher education for international students by providing mentorship, guidance, and technology-enabled support systems. These systems help students overcome barriers related to visa navigation and academic transition, enabling them to succeed and thrive in both U.S. and global academic environments.
Background Statement
Ahavah Rising Stars Foundation
Ahavah means love in Hebrew.
Ahavah Rising Stars Foundation was born from a question that would not leave my heart:
Where is the justice in this?
Each year, talented international students earn admission to U.S. universities many receiving academic or athletic scholarships. Yet most never arrive on campus.
National data reveals a significant decline in international student enrollments, with a drop of approximately 17% for the Fall 2025 intake. This represents one of the steepest declines in new arrivals outside the pandemic period. The situation is even more concerning, as only 42.8% of international applicants are accepted. However, a staggering 88% of those admitted fail to enroll. This is not due to a lack of merit, but rather to the inability to overcome the final financial barriers.
The enrollment decline has been especially significant among students from India, nations across Africa, and Latin America regions rich in talent, resilience, and future global leaders.
Impact Statement
As Mother Teresa wisely said, “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.”
At Ahavah Rising Stars, every donor, volunteer, and supporter casts a stone that creates a ripple of hope. When we help a student cross the finish line from acceptance to enrollment, we don’t just change one life, we change families, communities, and futures. Every student empowered through our program becomes a beacon of hope, a driver of opportunity, and a force for generational transformation, helping reverse the trend where nearly 88% of admitted students never reach campus. Together, we are casting stones of hope and creating ripples that transform lives for generations to come.
“Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth”. (1 John 3:18)
Needs Statement
International students significantly contribute to the educational, cultural, and economic vitality of the United States. However, for the first time in history, enrollment of international students in the US is at an all-time low. Despite receiving acceptance letters, many students face financial hardships, visa-related challenges, housing insecurity, transportation barriers, and a lack of support services, which often prevent them from completing the transition from acceptance to enrollment.
Consequently, nearly 88% of admitted international students never reach campus, leaving their educational dreams unrealized and opportunities lost. Behind every statistic is a student with the potential to become a leader, innovator, educator, entrepreneur, or community advocate. When these students are unable to enroll, families lose opportunities for upward mobility, communities lose valuable talent, and society loses future contributors whose gifts could create lasting positive change.
Ahavah Rising Stars was established to bridge this critical gap. Through comprehensive support services, mentorship, resources, and advocacy, we assist international students in overcoming barriers that stand between acceptance and enrollment. By investing in these students, we not only help them access higher education but also empower them to build brighter futures, strengthen communities, and create ripple effects of opportunity that extend across generations.
The need is urgent. Without targeted support, countless talented students will continue to see their educational aspirations remain out of reach. However, with the right resources and guidance, these students can transform their lives and become catalysts for positive change around the world.

Geographic Areas Served
The program will primarily serve international students from economically underserved backgrounds who lack access to structured educational guidance. Many of these students are first-generation applicants or come from regions with limited advising infrastructure, making them disproportionately vulnerable to misinformation and application barriers.
We estimate that the majority of participants will come from underserved communities based on regional income disparities, lack of institutional advising access, and financial constraints related to higher education planning.
Top Three Populations Served
- Immigrants and Refugees
- Middle Eastern/North Africans
- Native Americans and Tribal Communities
Statement from the CEO/Executive Director
As the CEO and founder of the Ahavah Rising Stars Foundation, I have the privilege of working at the intersection of talent, opportunity, and global impact. Each year, I witness exceptional international students being admitted to U.S. universities. These students possess the intelligence, drive, and leadership potential to thrive in today’s global economy. However, their futures are often delayed due to financial and logistical barriers beyond their control.
Many of these students come from underserved and indigenous communities in India, Africa, and Latin America. Their acceptance into U.S. institutions signifies far more than personal achievement. It is the culmination of years of resilience and sacrifice, and the promise of long-term positive impact for their families, communities, and future generations. These students are tomorrow’s innovators, educators, entrepreneurs, and change-makers.
At Ahavah Rising Stars, we firmly believe that access to education is not only a moral imperative but also a strategic investment in global talent. Driven by a deep love for humanity and the conviction that when opportunity aligns with potential, transformative results are achieved, I am committed to ensuring that no student’s future is determined by their zip code or their family’s income.
However, for many gifted students, a relatively small financial gap, such as visa-related expenses, can stand between acceptance and enrollment. These students have already demonstrated their academic prowess but face the devastating reality of turning down life-changing opportunities despite being fully qualified to succeed.
We view every student we serve as a high-impact investment. With the right support, guidance, and mentorship, they excel academically, contribute meaningfully to their institutions, and prepare for leadership roles in a global workforce. As Mother Teresa wisely said, “Each of us has the potential to make a difference in someone else’s life.” At Ahavah Rising Stars, driven by love, we turn this potential into action. We provide comprehensive supportive services to international students, including F-1 visa guidance and mentorship. Technology plays a crucial role in this initiative. We will utilize cloud-based infrastructure to ensure global scalability, secure data storage, and real-time access to services. These services will guide students successfully through the transition from acceptance to enrollment.
As a steward of opportunity, I collaborate with partners who recognize that meaningful change is achieved through collaboration. Every student empowered through our work becomes a rising star: strengthening families, uplifting communities, and adding diverse, globally informed perspectives to the future workforce.
Your partnership enables us to scale this impact. By investing in Ahavah Rising Stars, your organization directly supports educational access, global equity, and leadership development while aligning with values of diversity, inclusion, and social responsibility. Together, we can transform potential into performance, access into achievement, and opportunity into long-term impact.
Your support will be instrumental in securing acceptance and enrollment for many international students. By working together, we can ensure that no rising star is left behind.
“Let all that you do be done in love.”

Statement from the Board Chair/President
For the first time in history, international student enrollment in the United States has reached an unprecedented low.
This decline is not due to a lack of student abilities, but rather to the increasing financial barriers that are closing doors to opportunities.
At Ahavah Rising Stars Foundation, we firmly believe that love has the power to open doors. We believe that love is not a passive emotion; it is a dynamic force that drives change.
The name “Ahavah” holds deep significance in Hebrew, as it embodies the essence of love. Our organization is dedicated to assisting international students in transitioning from the stage of acceptance to the stage of support and ultimately, enrollment.
When barriers stand in the way of students’ progress, faith compels us to take action and provide support.
Your generosity becomes a source of provision, and your obedience becomes a catalyst for opportunity.
