Uncompensated Care

As a world-class pediatric healthcare system, Rady Children’s Health Orange County, formerly CHOC, relies on philanthropy-driven resources to meet the urgent needs of children and families, and direct support to areas where the need—and promise—are highest. The family-centered approach at Rady Children’s Health Orange County, includes essential wraparound services not covered by insurance yet critical to caring for the whole patient and their family. Flexible funding raised by CHOC Foundation enables us to provide these services designed specifically for kids and families, including spiritual care, sibling support groups, and art therapy that encourage healing and compassion in difficult times. Support for our Greatest Needs fund also fuels Rady Children’s Health Orange County, research studies. Our researchers collaborate with families and peers to develop new tests, treatments, and cures—transforming the future of pediatric care and addressing today’s major health concerns.
