CEO/Executive Director Experience

Ali Woodard, Founder and President/CEO of Fristers, has more than 25 years of experience supporting adolescent and young parents and their children. Her commitment to this work is rooted in her own experience with teen pregnancy and a desire to ensure that young parents have the guidance, support, resources, and caring community they need to make informed decisions and build healthy futures. Ali began developing programs for young mothers in 2002, when she created One Thirty Nine, an outreach ministry at Mariners Church in Irvine that supported women facing unplanned pregnancies at local pregnancy shelters. In 2003, she founded Club Mom, a support and education program for teenage mothers, which ultimately became Fristers and incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2008. Under Ali’s leadership, Fristers has grown into a comprehensive, two-generation organization serving adolescent and young parents and their children throughout Orange County. She has led the development and expansion of Fristers’ Wraparound Program, built partnerships with churches and community organizations, developed a strong staff and volunteer team, and guided the organization in serving more than 5,000 parents and children since its inception. Ali previously served on the board of Toby’s House, a nonprofit providing shelter and support to pregnant women in crisis. Prior to entering the nonprofit sector, she worked for Montgomery Securities in San Francisco and Koll in Orange County. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Finance from California State University, Long Beach.
