OUR STORY

Who We Are

Hope Paws Support Fund is a 100% volunteer-led nonprofit based in Southern California. We provide emergency veterinary care, rescue pull funding, safe transport, and adoption support for dogs in crisis.

We were founded in February 2026 because we saw a gap: families were surrendering beloved pets because they could not afford emergency surgery. Rescues could not pull dogs from high-risk shelters without funding. And dogs were dying simply because help was not available.

We decided to change that.

What We Do

We focus on four life-saving programs:

Emergency Veterinary Care Fund ($12,000)
We pay veterinary clinics directly so families never have to choose between their dog and their financial stability. Your donations fund surgeries, ICU stays, X-rays, and urgent medications.

Rescue & Pull Support ($12,000)
We fund pull fees so rescue organizations can extract dogs from high-risk shelters – especially OC Animal Care. Each $500 pull fee unlocks a kennel door and gives a dog a second chance.

Dog Transportation Network ($10,800)
Distance should never block a second chance. We reimburse volunteer drivers and fund commercial transport to move dogs from overcrowded shelters to foster and adoptive homes across the United States.

Dog Network & Adoption Support ($1,000)
We create professional videos and content to showcase adoptable dogs. A loving home is the ultimate goal.

Why It Matters

Every day, families face impossible choices. A dog needs emergency surgery. The family has no savings. Without help, the dog suffers or is surrendered.

This happens daily. And daily, we step in.

We are 100% volunteer-led. No salaried staff. No executive bonuses. Every dollar you give goes directly to veterinary clinics, rescue organizations, and transport services.

Our Transparency Promise

We share our full budget online – every program, every cost, every expected impact. We are a verified 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN: 41-4118400). We have earned Candid's 2026 Platinum Seal of Transparency. Our IRS determination letter is available upon request.

When you give to Hope Paws Support Fund, you know exactly where your money goes: directly to saving dogs and keeping families together.

Our Goal for 2026

We are actively fundraising to fully fund our $41,300 annual budget. Every donation – whether $5 or $5,000 – brings us closer to saving more dogs.

Help us reach our $12,000 Emergency Veterinary Care Fund goal. Together, we can ensure that no dog dies because a family cannot afford care.

Mission Statement

At Hope Paws Support Fund, we help dog owners cover unexpected medical bills, provide rescue organizations with the funding to save and transport dogs in need, and connect dogs with loving homes through a trusted network. Together, we ensure every dog gets a second chance at a healthy, happy life.

Background Statement

Hope Paws Support Fund was founded in February 2026 to address a simple, heartbreaking problem: families surrendering their dogs because they cannot afford emergency veterinary care. Every day, dogs suffer or are euthanized simply because help is not available. We pay veterinary clinics directly so no family has to choose between their dog and their financial stability.

Impact Statement

With donor support, Hope Paws Support Fund will fund 6 emergency surgeries, 4 critical care ICU stays, and diagnostic imaging for 10–12 dogs in crisis. Families will keep their beloved pets instead of surrendering them due to financial hardship.

Our four programs create measurable impact:
Emergency Veterinary Care Fund ($12,000) – 10–12 dogs receive life-saving medical care
Rescue & Pull Support ($12,000) – 24 dogs pulled from euthanasia lists
Dog Transportation Network ($10,800) – Up to 24 dogs moved to foster/adoptive homes
Dog Network & Adoption Support ($1,000) – Increased adoption rates through professional content

Every $500 funds a life-saving surgery. Every $50 covers a veterinary exam. We are 100% volunteer-led, so every dollar goes directly to dogs.

Needs Statement

Every day in Southern California, families face an impossible choice: pay thousands of dollars for their dog's emergency surgery or surrender their beloved pet. Most families do not have that kind of savings. Without help, the dog suffers or is surrendered to already overcrowded shelters.

OC Animal Care and other regional shelters operate at or near capacity. Pull fees average $500 per dog, but many rescues cannot afford them. Dogs with treatable medical conditions are euthanized simply because funding is not available. The gap is not a lack of will – it is a lack of resources.

The consequences of inaction: Without emergency funding, dogs will continue to be surrendered, rescues will leave dogs behind, and families will be torn apart. The need is urgent – every day of delay costs lives.

Statement from the CEO/Executive Director

I started Hope Paws Support Fund because I know what it feels like to be terrified that you cannot afford to save your dog.

When my own dog, Ariel, needed emergency surgery, I faced the same impossible choice that thousands of families face every day. I was lucky. Not everyone is.

I created this nonprofit to ensure that no family ever has to choose between their dog and their financial stability. We pay veterinary clinics directly. We fund rescue pulls. We transport dogs to safety. We are 100% volunteer-led – no salaries, no overhead, just dogs.

Every day, we say "yes" when a family calls in crisis. We say "yes" when a rescue needs pull fees. We say "yes" when a dog needs a ride to safety.

Your donation makes those "yeses" possible.

Thank you for giving dogs a second chance – and for keeping families together.

With gratitude,

Natalia Boiko

Statement from the Board Chair/President

We love dogs. That is why we are here.

Every member of the Hope Paws Support Fund board joined because we have seen the same thing: families surrendering beloved pets because they cannot afford emergency veterinary care. Shelters overwhelmed. Dogs dying simply because help was not available.

We refuse to accept that.

Our board is small, dedicated, and 100% volunteer. We do not take salaries. We do not collect fees. We review every program, every budget line, and every impact report – because we want donors to know exactly where their money goes: directly to dogs.

We are not a big corporation. We are dog lovers who decided to act. And we invite you to act with us.

Thank you for trusting us with your support.
