MAT 2.0

KCS MAT 2.0 is an enhanced approach to medication-assisted treatment that helps individuals struggling with substance use disorders access comprehensive, coordinated care. Building on KCS Health’s integrated model of medical and behavioral health services, the program provides medication, counseling, and ongoing care coordination to support long-term recovery. KCS MAT 2.0 is designed to reach individuals who often face the greatest barriers to care, including those experiencing homelessness and individuals involved in the justice system, who may also face stigma when seeking treatment. Patients receive personalized, compassionate support that addresses both physical and mental health needs, while also connecting them to housing, social services, and other critical resources. By reducing barriers and meeting people where they are, KCS MAT 2.0 helps individuals stabilize, engage in care, and begin rebuilding their lives.

Integrated Behavioral Health

KCS’s Integrated Behavioral Health Program delivers coordinated, patient-centered care by embedding behavioral health services within primary care settings, ensuring individuals receive timely screening, counseling, and treatment alongside their medical care. The program uses a multidisciplinary team approach to address mental health, substance use, and chronic conditions holistically, improving access, reducing stigma, and supporting long-term recovery and wellness for underserved communities.

Outcomes

KCS monitors behavioral health outcomes through its robust quality improvement program to advance whole-person, community-based care. Clinical measures include depression screening and follow-up, as well as population-level outcomes including timely follow-up after emergency department visits for mental illness and substance use and overall care engagement. Together, these metrics support local and state priorities to expand access, reduce disparities, and strengthen the behavioral health continuum, while advancing coordinated care, transitions of care, and reduced avoidable utilization.
