CEO/Executive Director Experience

Christy Ward is the chief development officer for MemorialCare’s Orange County region and president of the philanthropic foundations of Orange Coast Medical Center and Saddleback Medical Center. In this role, she leads fundraising strategy and builds community partnerships to support the MemorialCare health system’s mission in Orange County, to improve the health and well-being of individuals, families and our communities. With more than 25 years of experience in fundraising, she is a respected leader who builds meaningful relationships that align donor values with mission-driven human impact. Christy is focused on helping grateful patients and generous MemorialCare Orange County donors strengthen patient care, including advanced specialty care through MemorialCare’s Heart & Vascular Institute, Cancer Institute and Neurosciences Institute, as well as the MemorialCare Breast Centers. Prior to joining MemorialCare, Christy was previously the vice president of Hoag Hospital Foundation, contributing to the successful $760 million Hoag Promise campaign. She has also held leadership positions at University of North Carolina for its $2.4 billion Carolina First Campaign, and Chapman University to advance its Argyros School of Business & Economics.
