Tiny Stars

Our Tiny Stars program teaches students, ages 4 and 5, the fundamentals of dance and voice. You will learn from an experienced Music Industry Professional who will inspire you to love all things Musical Theater (and is great with kids)! This fun-filled course culminates with a special big-stage performance during the Intermission of our 2 pm Matinee showing of Disney’s DESCENDANTS – THE MUSICAL on Sunday, May 17th, 2026. This Spring, our 12-Week Course will take place on THURSDAYS from 3:10-3:55 pm at our brand new MTAOC Studio Location, which also includes an exciting onstage rehearsal at the Huntington Beach Central Library Theater on Sunday, May 17th, from 12:15 to 1:00 pm (just prior to your performance).

Twinkle Stars

Our Twinkle Stars program continues to teach our slightly older students. ages 6 and 7, the fundamentals of dance and voice. The kids will learn from an experienced Music Industry Professional who will inspire them to love all things Musical Theater (and is great with kids)! The course culminates with a special big-stage performance during the Intermission of our 2 pm Matinee showing of Disney’s DESCENDANTS- THE MUSICAL on Sunday, May 17th, 2026. Outcomes

Twice a year each Twinkle star will have the opportunity to participate in a group performance on stage in one song during the full performances by the older children.

Rising Stars

Elementary and middle school students ages 7-12 meet twice a week through a four to five-month rehearsal schedule to be in the cast of a Broadway Jr. musical production with live musicians twice a year in January and June. Skills are polished in drama, dance, voice, stage choreography, audition, and stage presence.

Each student participates in the entire theater process, auditions, rehearsals, costuming, and presenting on stage a part in a Junior Broadway-style production. Each student who participates in a complete show polishes the skills mentioned above while developing teamwork and a love for theater. Students at this age are beginning to consider a career in the arts.

Shooting Stars

Middle and high school students ages 13-18 meet twice a week through a four to five-month rehearsal schedule to be in the cast of a full-scale musical with live musicians on stage at the Huntington Beach Library Theater twice a year in January and June. Skills are polished in audition, drama, dance, voice, stage choreography, and stage presence.

Summer on Broadway

JULY 8 – 25, 2026 Join us this summer for our fast-paced, intensive Musical Theater workshop for students Ages 8 to 16. The cast will learn Broadway-style choreography and vocals for 14 jam-packed days, culminating in 2 performances showcasing all that they have learned. Shows will include a minimum of 30 to 40 Broadway Songs with a yet-to-be- determined theme and will be performed at the Huntington Beach Central Library Theater. Due to the fast pace of instruction, students must attend ALL rehearsals for the FULL time and attend ALL performances to participate. Class size is limited to 48 students, and spaces fill up quickly, so register early to make sure you are in the mix! No previous experience necessary to join in on the excitement. The first 11 days of rehearsals are held at the MTAOC Studio in Costa Mesa, before moving into the theater for the final three days of staging and the performances. All-singing, all- dancing, all FUN! Don’t miss out on the action that occurs in this favorite MTAOC annual tradition!

Each student who participates polishes the skills mentioned above while developing teamwork and a love for theater. The further grow their social and emotional skills by engaging with peers of a range of ages during daily rehearsals for the 2 1/2 weeks as well as during the performances.
