Since 2001, COR CDC has continued to change the lives of individuals and communities. Our primary focus is to: Promote entrepreneurship opportunities for adults and youth; Advance youth technologically through a myriad of STEAM programs; Empower individuals and families through various affordable housing initiatives and transform underserved communities through civic engagement while strategically bringing awareness to the issues that affect our lives.

We help the whole family holistically through entrepreneurship, civic engagement, youth education, and affordable housing services. We are committed to generational impact in all the communities we serve.

Since 2001, COR CDC has been transforming lives across our community and our youth remain at the heart of everything we do.

In 2025, our Wrisë Booker Summer Enrichment Academy, now in its 13th year, gave 104 young people hands-on experience in robotics, drones, rocketry, and STEM. 100% completed four or more STEM projects, 92% reported improved social confidence, and 77% showed measurable gains in math skills. Through the Young Entrepreneur Academy, 72 young people built real financial literacy skills, with 100% learning to create a budget and 80% developing their own business plan. Our civic engagement work, now in its 25th year, trained 24 youth leaders and engaged over 600 community members in partnership with 20+ local organizations, cultivating the next generation of changemakers.

This is where transformation begins: with a young person who discovers they can code, budget, lead, and dream bigger because someone believed in them first.

That belief extends to every generation and every corner of our community. Through Banking on Your Success, 80 aspiring entrepreneurs completed our 6-week course, with 85% opening or growing a business. Our affordable housing residential services served 1,450 units across five properties in partnership with Avanath Capital Management, distributing over 350 Thanksgiving food baskets and 400+ toys to families in need, 100% of whom are low-to-moderate income. In total, COR CDC directly served over 355 individuals in 2025, 79% of them low-to-moderate income, and reflecting the true diversity of our community: 41% Hispanic/Latino, 33% Black, and 22% AANHPI.

For over two decades, COR CDC has stood in the gap for individuals and families who needed more than promises, they needed action. Today, I'm asking you to stand with us, because that gap has never been wider.

Like many community organizations across the country, we are facing a serious reduction in institutional funding. Grants we have relied on for years are shrinking or disappearing altogether. Government support is tightening. And yet, the need in our community for opportunity, for stability, for hope has not slowed down. If anything, it has grown.

This moment demands honesty: without increased community and private support, the depth and reach of our programming is at risk. I want to be especially direct about what's at stake for our youth. Our STEAM programs are not extracurricular add-ons, they are lifelines. For many of the young people we serve, this is their only access to financial literacy, technology, hands-on STEM learning, and mentors who believe in their potential. These programs build confidence. They build skills. They build futures. When a young person learns to code, design, or problem-solve through our programs, we're not just teaching a subject, we're rewriting the trajectory of a life, and often, of a family for generations to come.

Every dollar cut from youth programming isn't just a budget line, it's a missed opportunity for a child who deserved a chance to dream bigger. We refuse to let funding shortfalls become the reason a young person's potential goes unrealized. We refuse to let workforce development pipelines dry up, or affordable housing initiatives stall, or civic engagement efforts go silent, not while there are families counting on us.
