PROGRAMS
STEM & Environmental Education
Crystal Cove Conservancy’s K–12 STEM and environmental education programs engage students in investigating real conservation questions at Crystal Cove State Park. Working alongside educators, scientists, and engineers, students use the scientific method, collect data, and contribute to ongoing research, environmental monitoring, and ecological restoration. These immersive field experiences strengthen students’ scientific understanding, build confidence, and introduce them to STEM and environmental career pathways.
1. Students strengthen their understanding of the scientific method and gain experience using science and engineering practices to investigate real environmental questions.
2. Teachers receive support in meeting curriculum goals through authentic field experiences connected to classroom learning.
3. Students collect data that contributes to ongoing research, environmental monitoring, ecological restoration, and the stewardship of Crystal Cove State Park.
Conservation
As the nonprofit partner of Crystal Cove State Park, Crystal Cove Conservancy works alongside California State Parks to protect and restore the park’s natural resources. The Conservancy supports habitat restoration and ecological monitoring, engages volunteers in hands-on stewardship, and raises funds for priority conservation projects. Our education and internship programs also give high school and university students opportunities to contribute to real conservation work while exploring careers in natural resource management.
1. Protect and restore priority habitats and support the long-term ecological resilience of Crystal Cove State Park.
2. Expand on-the-ground habitat restoration, ecological monitoring, and community stewardship activities.
3. Engage volunteers in meaningful conservation work that strengthens their connection to the park and understanding of its ecosystems.
4. Introduce high school and university students to natural resource careers through hands-on internships and field experience.
