Cypress College Foundation Scholarship Program
The Cypress College Foundation Scholarship Program is dedicated to supporting students as they pursue their goals at Cypress College and beyond. These scholarships represent a valuable tool to alleviate financial hardship that prevents students from completing their degree pathway.
The Foundation awards hundreds of scholarships to students each year, with an average award of over $1,000. Scholarships support students in completing their educational pathway by alleviating financial challenges.
Cypress College Foundation Emergency Assistance Program
The Emergency Assistance Program is intended to fill the gap in student basic needs and remove economic barriers to allow for increased retention and academic program completion. The program provides temporary financial assistance to students experiencing unusual or unexpected hardships. This assistance is provided in the form of grants, bookstore credits, programmatic loans, and forgivable loans. These zero interest loans may be forgiven once a student completes their academic program and receives their degree or certificate.
Within a given year, up to 100 students receive Emergency Assistance funds through the Cypress College Foundation. On average, students receive between $500-$1,000 for emergency assistance. The program addresses basic needs such as food insecurity, housing insecurity, registration fees, textbook costs, and other expenses as students continue their academic endeavors. Emergency assistance funding allows the Foundation to directly impact students experiencing difficult life circumstances and provide relief in the form of financial assistance. In many cases, these contributions are a lifeline for students to remain enrolled and focus on their academic pursuits.
