Youth Development Through Music Education and Social Support

Harmony Project provides tuition-free music education and wraparound support to more than 4,000 young people in historically underserved communities across North Orange County and Los Angeles County, at no cost to students or families. Students receive an instrument, weekly music instruction, and opportunities to perform, grow, and build confidence over time. Families can also turn to Harmony Project for social-emotional support and resource connection through our CARE department. Older students receive college access guidance, alumni support, and scholarships that help them prepare for life after high school.

Outcomes

Harmony Project measures student growth through end-of-year surveys, teaching artist evaluations, focus groups with students, families, and teaching artists, and ongoing review of program data. Our Data & Technology department tracks this information and uses it to assess annual impact, strengthen programs, and identify when additional support may be needed for students or families. Attendance, active status, and dismissals are also monitored throughout the year to support program continuity and inform intervention when needed.
